Cepphus columba, Auk egg
Description:
One of two pigeon guillemot (Cepphus columba columba) eggs (CBE1833-CBE1834) collected from along the coast of Santa Cruz County, California in June 1940. These eggs were originally collected by T.W. Polhemus who noted that incubation had just begun. Polhemus noted they had been found in a "dirt bank of sea cliff, in a shallow hole" and the parent had been observed." Later acquired by Ernest Cutts.
