Catharacta skua, Jaeger egg

Description:

One of two great skua (Catharacta skua skua) eggs (CBE1452-CBE1453) collected from the Shetland Islands in Scotland on June 1922. They had been freshly laid at the time of collection and collector, C.H. Gowland noted that they were found "in deep heather or moorland." They were later acquired by Alexander Sprunt Jr. for his oology collection.
