Black and white photograph looking west on Broad Street from East Bay. To capture the street scene, the photographer positioned himself directly in front of the Old Exchange Building. The building immediately to the left bears the address of 1 Broad and is vacant at the time this image was taken (note the "For Lease/For Sale" sign). The large building to the right contained the Marcus Rexall Drug Store at 2 Broad and housed the offices of Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc. Stocks and Bonds, at 8-10 Broad.
