Photograph of Broad Street looking west toward St. Michael's Church (71 Broad Street). To photograph this street scene, Paine positioned himself on the interior steps of the Old Post Office Building (now the Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon Building, 122 East Bay) and shot through the open doorway. Several diagonally parked automobiles are visible on both sides of the street and two pedestrians can be seen passing in front of a trolley car. He noted his camera settings on reverse, "Plain film old. Zeiss 16.5 cm 1/35. F8 Too shady, Jany 1933 (Try July)."
