Description:

Photograph of flower vendors on the sidewalk in front of the United States Post Office (83 Broad Street). Their horse, hitched to a wagon, stands patiently as they sell floral bouquets. The old Hebrew Orphanage (88 Broad Street) is prominently visible in the background. Paine noted on reverse, "Old Jewish Seminary Broad 94. Photo 1934 M.B. Paine." At the time he shot this image the building housed attorneys and insurance brokers. Signs advertising for insurance and the law offices of, "M. I. McCrae" and "J.C.
