Description:

This Sharps-Bochardt Model 1878 .50-90 caliber rifle is equipped with a blued barrel, case-hardened receiver and a "dropping block" breech-loading mechanism with a long range Vernier tang sight attached at the rear barrel. Currently on exhibit in the Armory at the Museum.
