Description:

Watercolor on paper illustrating a green mushroom identified along the bottom as "Blue Bolitus [sic] Edible." Jervey wrote on reverse, "I have only found the blue Bolitus [sic] on the Vanderbilt Estate. Tested it & found it Edible. A word of warning - Never eat a pure white mushroom until you know 20 varieties of white mushroom which include the Deadly Amanita."
