Asheville Trip, Rest Stop

Photograph of Charlotta Drayton getting into an automobile during a rest stop at Chestnut Springs, South Carolina on their way to Asheville, North Carolina. They stopped at the springs to refill the radiator with water, note the man to the far right. Paine captioned the image, "Big Olds 54 and another traveller known as Henry." He also identified the location, "Chestnut Spring S.C. & N.C. line 7/5/17."

A small group, including Paine and Charlotta, took this trip in an Oldsmobile Model 54 following the Old US 25 Highway from Charleston to Asheville, N.C.
