Description:
Photograph of Charlotta Drayton holding a camera as she takes the picture of an unidentified woman and man standing near the automobile during a rest stop. The woman holds the leash of Drayton's dog, "Nipper." Paine captured the scene from an elevated position and wrote on verso, "Chas. S.C. to Flat Rock N.C. 7/5/17 View in N.C. just past S.C. line."
A small group, including Paine and Drayton, took this trip in an Oldsmobile Model 54 following the Old US 25 Highway from Charleston to Asheville, N.C.
