Description:
One of fourteen wood duck eggs collected by T. S. Gillin, D. A. Thompson, and James R. Gillin (see CBE1086 - CBE1093). Upon collection it was noted that the eggs were 1/3 of the way incubated and that 9 eggs were infertile. The eggs were identified when the female was spotted on the nest which was "8 feet up in apple tree in orchard," (Gillin slip).
