Watercolor on paper of various stages of mushroom maturation. Jervey noted on the bottom, "Amanita Caesarea Caesars mushroom See A5" and wrote on reverse, "continued from A3 -
a poisonous mushroom and dies. His companions note the fact and avoid mushrooms. Today we have scientific treatises based on intelligent study which enables us to distinguish the poisonous from the edible. Thus God has put us in a world of poisnous plants & insects. Why? In order to develope [sic] character and intellect - (Something to that effect.)"
