Description:

Black and white photograph of a two-wheeled cart loaded with cut sugar cane pulled by a donkey. Taylor noted on reverse, "St. Madeleine Plan. Grenada, load of cane." The plantation and sugar factory is located on the Cipero River near the City of San Fernando in Trinidad (now Trinidad and Tobago). The expedition team stopped in San Fernando in February before Beebe decided to move on to British Guiana (now Guyana).
