1916 Scientific Expedition, Sugar Plantation

Description:

Sepia photograph showing members of the expedition team touring Usine Ste. Madeleine. Anna H. Taylor can be seen in the center wearing a floppy hat. She noted on reverse, "Usine St. Mad." The plantation and sugar factory is located on the Cipero River near the City of San Fernando in Trinidad (now Trinidad and Tobago). The expedition team stopped in San Fernando in February before Beebe decided to move on to British Guiana (now Guyana).
