Jervey noted at the top right, "Made from the [?] of this mushroom which is the fresh stage" and along the bottom, "Painted with the Dye from a Fungus" and wrote on reverse, "is a distinct yellow, pink & Black center. I think it must have some [?] with the Lycoperdon family."
