Members-only Sneak Peak Curators Tour: America's First Museum: 250 Years of Collecting, Preserving, and Educating

On January 12th, 2023 The Charleston Museum will celebrate 250 years since its founding in 1773.  To commemorate this milestone, join us in the Historic Textiles Gallery for a special highlights exhibit showcasing 250 years of the Museum’s collection.  On December 13th, 2022 Museum Members will have the exclusive opportunity to tour America’s First Museum: 250 Years of Collecting, Preserving, and Educating Part 1 before it opens to the public.  See what it takes to create a special exhibit from start to finish! Guests will get a never-before-offered, behind-the-scenes look at the Museum workroom as the curators finish their final touches.  Then make your way to the 250th highlights exhibit in the Historic Textiles Gallery and be the first to see this special, once in a lifetime creation. Chief of Collections Jennifer McCormick, Curator of Archaeology Martha Zierden, Curator of Natural History Matthew Gibson, and Historic Textiles Curator Virginia Theerman will all be on hand to answer questions and provide a guided tour of the workroom and Historic Textiles Gallery.

This program is FREE and exclusively for current Museum Members.  Not a Museum Member, yet?  Join today!  Reservations required.
