Members-only Sneak Peek Curators Tour: America's First Museum: 250 Years of Collecting, Preserving, and Educating Part 2

On January 12, 2023 The Charleston Museum celebrated 250 years since its founding in 1773.  To commemorate this milestone, join us for a special highlight exhibit showcasing 250 years of the Museum’s collection. On June 14, 2023 Museum Members will have the exclusive opportunity to tour America’s First Museum: 250 Years of Collecting, Preserving, and Educating Part 2 before it opens to the public.  See what it takes to create a special exhibition from start to finish! Guests will get a behind-the-scenes look at the Museum workroom as the curators finish their final touches on Part 2 of this year-long exhibit.  Then make your way to the 250th highlights exhibit in the Historic Textiles Gallery and be the first to see this once in a lifetime creation. Chief of Collections Jennifer McCormick, Curator of Historical Archaeology Martha Zierden, Curator of Natural History Matthew Gibson, Curator of Historic Textiles Virginia Theerman, and Curator of History Chad Stewart will all be on hand to answer questions and provide a guided tour of the workroom and Historic Textiles Gallery.

This program is FREE and exclusively for current Museum Members.  Not a Museum Member, yet?  Join today!  Reservations required.
