Conversations with a Curator: Archivist Jennifer McCormick on The Early Days

Conversations with a Curator: Archivist Jennifer McCormick on The Early Days

Join Archivist and Collections Manager Jennifer McCormick in our Lowcountry Image Gallery for a discussion of the new exhibit, The Early Days: A Photographic History of America’s First Museum. Featuring images of the Museum’s time in Randolph Hall at the College of Charleston, the old museum on Rutledge Avenue, as well as its present location on Meeting Street, The Early Days allows visitors to look back on the dedication and devotion given to America’s First Museum over the years.  Visitors will also hear from Sarah Platt, a Ph.D. student who has done extensive research on one of the Museum’s oldest collection items, a Hawaiian mahiole helmet.

Conversations with a Curator allows visitors a chance to have an intimate look at an exhibit in The Charleston Museum, hear stories, ask questions and spark conversations. The Museum’s collections are both extraordinary and diverse and each Curator-led talk and tour will allow participants to immerse themselves in different areas of Charleston’s history.

All Conversations with a Curator programs are open to the public and FREE for Members and free with admission.

Conversations with a Curator programs are typically held on the second Friday of each month, with a few exceptions.
