Description:

Become immersed in colonial Charleston! The program begins at the Powder Magazine with your recruitment into the Patriot forces. Sign your enlistment papers, make a musket cartridge and learn drills. Then the journey continues to the Heyward–Washington House where you meet Hannah, an indentured servant. Hannah tells you of her daily life in the work yard and throughout the home.  The second Tuesday of every month we offer a special program for home schooling families. These programs feature one of our field trip classes, a chance to go through the Museum, and an activity. Please call or email to reserve a space, spaces are limited. Please arrive early for check-in at the Powder Magazine.
