Description:
Oil portrait painting on canvas of an unidentified woman wearing a dark blouse. The woman has blue eyes, like the background on which she is painted, and scarlet lips. Ball applied the pigment in an impressionist manner, with the brush strokes not blended together but left to resemble blocks of color. Some of the warm hues of the woman's skin appear in the pale blue background around the model's neck and shoulders.
