Description:

Storage jar created by enslaved potter, David Drake (Dave the Potter), currently on exhibit in the Museum's First Hall. The jar is designed with two crock handles below the rolled rim and finished with a green-tinted alkaline glaze. Dave inscribed his name along with the man who owned him "L. Miles" on one side with the date of "22 July 1840" on the other.
