Page 8 - Hampton Plantation

Description:

Photograph of two men identified on reverse (left to right) as "Harold L. Madison and Paul M. Rea at Hampton Plantation." Madison worked as the Curator of Education along with Rea, who was then Director of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History (1920-1928) and the former Director of The Charleston Museum (1906-1920). The image was taken during a lunch break at one of the outings for the 18th annual meeting of the American Association of Museums held in Charleston.

The conference coincided with the 150th Anniversary of the founding of The Charleston Museum and then Director, Laura Bragg arranged for tours of various sights and plantations around the Lowcountry.
