Description:
Black ink drypoint depicting a full length portrait of Florence Leyland, the second oldest daughter of Frederick R. and Frances Leyland. Whistler illustrated her wearing a knee-length dress holding a hoop in her right hand. The Leyland's were patrons of the artist and he etched and painted several portraits of the family during his stay at Speke Hall. Gift of Archer and Anna Huntington, 1932.
