Description:

Black and white photograph of the east side of Anson Street between George and Calhoun Streets, no longer extant. A tattered awning hangs over the store front of the Midway Cooling Station (108 Anson) as a young boy enters. The handlebars of his bicycle are visible in the bottom left corner. Handwritten on the front bottom reads, "Anson St. east side between George & Calhoun - March 1938."

The 1938 Charleston City Directory lists William D. Ladson as the business owner.
