Larus argentatus, Gull egg
Description:
One of three herring gull (Larus argentatus smithsonianus) eggs (CBE7079-CBE7081) collected from Little Wood Island in the Bay of Fundy off the coast of New Brunswick, Canada by A. C. Bent in June 1891. Incubation of the eggs had begun prior to collection and the nest is described by Bent as being composed "of grasses, sticks and weeds on the ground." Later acquired by Arthur T. Wayne.
