H.L. Hunley Model

Description:

Photograph of three Tri-County Technical Education Center students dressed as Confederate soldiers standing next to the full-scale model of Confederate submarine, H.L. Hunley on a flatbed trailer. It is parked in front of the USS Trigger (SS-564) at the Charleston Navy Base. Please contact the Museum's archives with any information on the identities of the students.

This image was taken during a detour to the Naval Base from the TEC location on Highway 52 to the basement of the Citizens & Southern National Bank building at 50 Broad Street. A gift from C&S to The Charleston Museum, the replica was housed and displayed in the Hunley Museum until 1981 when it was moved to The Charleston Museum's new location at 360 Meeting Street.
