Gavia immer, Loon egg
Description:
One of a pair of common loon (Gavia immer) eggs collected from Kalevala, Canada (see CBE1005-CBE1006). Collector Ernest Norman noted "eggs laid on top of an old muskrat house in small pond" and were easily identified due to "parents near, eggs unmistakeable." Later acquired by Alexander Sprunt.
