Albumen silver print from a glass plate negative showing several Confederate soldiers in the interior of Fort Sumter after its surrender by the U.S. garrison. Most are posing for the photographer seated on various cannons while some can be seen in the background standing in rumble. Two soldiers (far left) hold flag staffs with one tattered flag visible as two civilians in top hats look on.
