Description:

Black and white photograph looking north on Church Street. Paine captured a street vendor seated under an umbrella driving a horse-drawn cart of various produce toward the Albert Wheeler Todd House (41 Church). The Thomas Young House (35 Church) is visible on the left with the Vincent Leseigneur House (38 Church) on the right. A figure is pictured riding a bicycle out of the gate of the George Matthews House (37 Church). The print is made from a glass plate negative held in the Museum Archives.

Note the double exposure of a rocking chair in the lower, right corner.
