Black and white photograph showing Mrs. Ethel Holbrook Moak receiving a silver commemorative plate as the sponsor of the ship LSM 298. Mrs. Moak was the wife of Thomas O. Moak, Sr. who was a chipper and caulker and part of the Shipfitter's Shop crew that built the ship.

Typed on reverse, "Gift for Landing Ship Sponsor. Charleston, S.C., Nov. 13 -- Mrs. Thomas O. Moak, sponsor of the LSM 298 launched here this morning, is shown receiving a gift from Chairman W.M. Zeigler of the Charleston Navy Yard's Central Shop Committee, presented on behalf of the yard workers. The LSM 298 was one of the six landing ships to be launched in this yard within a 24 hour period."
