Description:
Black and white photograph of a family of Amerindians belonging to the Arawak Tribe situated on the Essequibo River. Pictured is a young girl and a small girl holding a baby. They are both in woven hammocks under a traditional thatch covered shelter as they pose for the photographer. Taylor noted on reverse, "Arawak Indians - Life in their 'beuab' - near Bartica."
