The Slave Dwelling Project

The Slave Dwelling Project

Since 2010, the Slave Dwelling Project has been bringing much needed attention to the preservation of slave dwellings throughout the United States by spending nights in these historically significant structures. Join founder Joseph McGill, a member of the Museum’s Board of Trustees, as he chronicles his sleepovers at presidential sites, institutions of higher learning, national parks, historic sites, and private homes in 19 states and the District of Columbia.
