Stono Plantation: Life after Slavery

Join Museum Archaeologist Ron Anthony as he discusses and displays artifacts found from the most recent excavations conducted at the Stono Plantation on the Dill Sanctuary.  Afterwards, visitors will have a chance to view the archaeological remnants of a post Civil War dwelling that once housed some of the freed people who worked the land as tenant farmers.

Please note: this is an “off-road” location with unprepared terrain. Walking shoes/boots are recommended.
