Conversations with a Curator: Curator of Historic Textiles Jan Hiester on "Unveiled"

Join Historic Textiles Curator Jan Hiester for a last look at Unveiled: Wedding Fashions and Traditions in the South before it closes on July 10. Hiester will discuss wedding clothing from 1806 to the present while enjoying the original garments from the collection. A stunning 1916 wedding dress too fragile for regular display will be a special treat for this tour only! In addition to the dresses are men’s wedding vests and wonderful accessories such as shoes, fans orange blossoms and lace veils.

Conversations with a Curator allows visitors a chance to have an intimate look at an exhibit in The Charleston Museum, hear stories, ask questions and spark conversations. The Museum’s collections are both extraordinary and diverse and each Curator-led talk and tour will allow participants to immerse themselves in different areas of Charleston’s history.

All Conversations with a Curator programs are open to the public and FREE for Members and FREE with admission.
