Civil War Era Fashion Try-on and Photo Shoot

Civil War Era Fashion Try-on and Photo Shoot

Are you a fan of history or fashion or more specifically, historic fashion? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wear one of the wide hoop skirts or the heavy wool uniform of a Confederate or Union soldier? Here’s your chance to find out!

The Carolina Ladies Aid Society is pleased to present a photographer’s studio complete with hoops, dresses, men’s uniform jackets, children’s clothing, hats, bonnets, and fans all available for you to try on.  A photographer will be present to take a formal mid-19th century-style portrait of you and your group. This is great for families, couples or friends to have as a memory to share with others and we hope hope you will come and join us for this day of fashion, history and fun!

Register online or call 843.722.2996 ext. 235

In order to guarantee your photo shoot time, early registration is strongly recommended.  When you register online, you will choose the time that you would like to begin dressing up. Typically, each group will have approximately 10 minutes for dressing up and 10 minutes for photos. Each time slot is $20 and includes the costume try-on with the Ladies Aid Society and the photographer’s sitting fee.  Your photo will be edited and a digital high-res image will be sent to the address you give during your registration.

Due to time constraints and high demand, groups of more than 7 or those looking for various photo set-ups and compositions are advised to register for 2 time slots.
