The mission of the Charleston Museum Institute is to provide Charlestonians and visitors courses designed for the pure pleasure of learning. No exams, grades, or educational prerequisites are required and the cost is significantly lower than college courses.
The Institute provides innovative educational programs to suit a variety of interests. Each year we offer an assortment of Institute symposia and workshops, covering such Charleston topics as Archaeology, Furniture, Silver, Architecture, Civil War history, Gullah culture and much more.
