Spring Break Camps at The Dill Sanctuary

9 a.m. - 12 p.m. each day
Enjoy a sneak peek of our summer camps at the Dill Sanctuary on James Island. Children will go on a marsh walk, collect fiddler crabs, and make a craft to take home. Each day will include different themes; sign up for individual days or for all three. Ages 5 – 10. $25/Museum members, $30/Non-members. Get down and dirty exploring creatures of the marsh and tracking animals along the trail at the Charleston Museum’s Dill Sanctuary, a 580-acre wildlife sanctuary located on James Island along the Stono River. Learn about archaeology, animals, life in a marsh, Native Americans and more. Crafts, activities, and snack included in the cost. Reservations are required. $130/Members, $150/Non-members. Patriots Day Camp
June 14
9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Become a Patriot for the day! Begin your adventure into Colonial life in the Great Hall of the Old Exchange. Here you will learn to dance the minuet and then travel to the dungeon to see where tea was hidden and patriots were imprisoned during the Revolution. Next, enlist in the Continental Army at the Powder Magazine. Learn military drills and make a musket cartridge. The journey continues to the Heyward–Washington House where you meet Hannah, an indentured servant. Hannah will tell you of her life as you explore the house and kitchen building while nibbling on colonial cooking. This special day camp is for ages 7 – 12 and includes a snack. $25 per child.
