Description:

Black and white photograph of a busy Adger's North Wharf (now North Adgers Wharf) in the morning. The photographer captured the image from the water to show street vendors (or hucksters) waiting for produce-laden boats of John's Island and James Island to be unloaded. The boat "Gypsy" (far right) is loaded with watermelons, the "Edna" (center) is docked, and the "Regal [?] of Charleston" (left center) and an unidentified boat (far left) are pulling up to the seawall. Handwritten notation on reverse, "Adger's Wharf, Early morning."
