In celebration of Women’s History Month, a special tour will be offered every Sunday in March (March 4, 11, 18 and 25) focusing on the lives of the women who have influenced The Joseph Manigault House. Uncover the story of Judith Giton Manigault a French Huguenot who despite having to flee religious persecution in France, still made way for future generations to prosper in Charleston.  Learn about Charlotte Drayton Manigault, her daughter Ann, her slave Affy, and the daily lives of ladies of the early 1800s.  Hear the stories of the women who saved the house in the 1920s and ’30s.  Discover the women who took the helm when it was used as a Red Cross Training Facility, women’s dormitory, and USO post during World War II. Walk through the gardens that have been restored and maintained by the ladies of the Garden Club of Charleston.
