Description: |
In conjunction with Early 20th Century Quilts, The Charleston Museum teams up with Kelly Biscopink, author of Modern Designs for Classic Quilts. Learn to make a Dresden Plate block that has modern flair and roots in the 1920s and 30s. Kelly will teach you how to make a Dresden plate block using the EZ Dresden Ruler and a bit of raw edge or needle-turn appliqué, play with placement for a modern effect, discuss modern quilting and project options, and go over envelope pillow-making basics. Kelly says "fair warning: Dresden Plates are like potato chips - you're not going to be able to stop after just one!" Workshop includes a guided tour of Early 20th Century Quilts. Participants will need to bring their own sewing machine. Confident Beginner/Intermediate level
